-New Species (Usinger 946)

-occupies a wide range of habtats (Davis 1996); especially in clear, seasonally intermittent streams, in gravel or cobblestone riffles and shallow, rocky bottomed pools; generally avoids turbid waters, stagnant pools and silt substrates (Davis 1996)

-a specimen collected from Reeves county was identified by LaRivers (1951 in Davis 1996) as Ambrysus woodburyi but was subsequently examined by Davis (1996) and determined to be Ambrysus buenoi
